Brabant calligrapher. What is known of his life is noted on the title-pages of the two calligraphic albums he produced: the Exercitatio alphabetica, 1569, where he is called 'Bruxellanus' (born in Brussels) and not yet 18 years old, and the Eximiae peritiae alphabetum complura graphica exemplaria, 1571, where he is said to be 'Brabantius' (of Brabant) and 20 years old. He must consequently have been born in 1551. He was probably the son of Etienne Perret. Most bibliographers note him as dying shortly after 1571, but he must still have been alive in 1577, when he signed the Album amicorum of Abraham Ortelius. Cf.
