Note 2The work was first issued by Antonius Bladus, Rome, 1556; reprinted by Maternus Cholinus, Cologne, 1558, and at Vienna, 1561 (cf. De Backer-Sommervogel, 3, Column 1047). Plantin's edition must have been a reprint of one of these publications. All these editions - including those by Plantin - appeared without name of author.
Note 3Listed in M 296, folio 4v (De utraque copia verborum carmine, in 8⁰, f[euilles] -, [price:] stuivers ½), and M 164, folio 9r. It is possible that these entries refer [also] to the 1574-edition.
