Note 1 The works of Virgilius: Bucolica (pages 15-42); Georgica (pages 43-110); Aeneis (pages 111-414); P. Virgilii Maronis aliorumq. poetarum opuscula, sive lusus (pages 415-533).
Note 2 As stated on the title-page: edited by Theodorus Pulmannus. In fact a reprint of Plantin's 1564-edition by Pulmannus (including the dedicatory to Gaspar Schetus [Schetz], dated 11 October 1563) (see no. cp010832). Have been added, as also stated on the title-page, in the form of marginals 'Pauli Manutii annotationes. Homeri loca quae Virgilius imitatus est' (taken from Plantin's 1565/66 and 1572 editions: see nos. cp010862 and cp013103). The 'Georgii Fabricii observationes' announced on the title-page (and figuring in the 1565/66 and 1572 editions) have in fact not been reproduced.
Note 3 The work must already have been on the market in 1579 as, in his letter of 10 December 1579 to J. Buyssetius, Plantin lists 'Virgilius in 8⁰' among the works he had printed in the past two years (Corr., VI, no. 851, page 115).
Note 4 Listed in M 296, folio 19v ([Virgilius] [15] 80, f[euilles] 35, [price:] stuivers 7). Not listed in M 321 (which starts in 1580).
