Note 1 | Reprint of the 1565-edition, but with some changes: e.g. the 'Annotationes' are far more elaborate, and the 'Variae lectiones' has been added. The dedicatory to Joannes Flemingus remained, in which Pulmannus states that he used three manuscripts and the 'lectionis varietates' supplied by Hadrianus Junius. In the 'Notae librorum veterum quibus in annotationibus, et variis lectionibus usi sumus' the editor, however, adds a fifth manuscript: 'Iacobi Susii, quem in locis aliquot Iunius inspexisse videtur'. |
Note 2 | The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 106, gives the following details about 'Juvenalis et Persius 16º': 'pour l'impression qui est 6 feilles entières' is noted in June 1566 19 florins Carolus guilders, 'pour les escrittures et emendations et format' 4 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers Of the edition 1,600 copies were printed, for which 19 reams and 14 'mains' of paper 'grand carré' were used, which, at 1 florins Carolus guilders 12 stuivers per ream, came to 31 florins Carolus guilders 7½ stuivers, bringing the overall costs to 54 florins Carolus guilders 17½ stuivers The expense of 4 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers is detailed in Arch. 3, folio 53, at the date of 18 June 1566, as 'pour autant que i'ay donné par présent [= as gift] à Poelman [3 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers] et pour le format 1 florins Carolus guilders'. |
Note 3 | Listed in M 296, folio 9v (Juvenalis et Persius in 16º, aº 1566, f[euilles] 6, [price:] stuivers 1½). |
