Note 1 | Reprint of the 1564-edition. |
Note 2 | The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 84 verso, gives the following details about the 'Meditationes in Gram[maticam] Graeca[m] Clenardi, 8': the wages for composing and printing the 7½ sheets are entered on 3 August 1566 for the sum of 13 florins Carolus guilders 18 stuivers For the 800 copies printed 11 reams 10 'mains' of paper 'carillon' were used, which, at 1 florins Carolus guilders 2 stuivers per ream, came to somewhat more than 12 florins Carolus guilders, bringing the overall costs to 26 florins Carolus guilders (simplified addition). The costs for printing the Annotationes Guillonii (an additional 3½ sheets) are not entered - perhaps because in fact this part had already been printed in 1564 (intended originally for the 1564 edition of the Meditationes [cf. cp010274], but finished too late to accompany the 1564 Meditationes it was put aside and reserved for the forthcoming 1566 edition). |
Note 3 | Plantin published the Meditationes and the Institutiones separately, but generally at the same time, and they are often noted as one publication in his catalogues. For some reason he must have decided in 1566 to bring an additional edition of the Meditationes without the Institutiones. |
Note 4 | Listed in M 296, folio 11 verso (Meditationes in Grammat[icam] grȩcam Clen[ardi], 8⁰, a⁰ 1566, f[euilles] 7½, [price:] stuivers 1½). Here also the 3½ additional quires of the Annotationes Guillonii have been omitted. |
