Note 1 Commentary on the title of the Pandect 'De diversis regulis iuris antiqui'.
Note 2 The title-page gives the year 1568, but according to the colophon the printing was actually finished in November 1567.
Note 3 Plantin acknowledged having received the manuscript on 21 June 1567, specifying in his letter to Raevardus that he had already forwarded the manuscript for the approbatio to the priest of the Church of Our Lady in Antwerp, who promised to return it before the end of the following week (the priest, Sebastianus Baer, signed indeed the approbatio, but without dating it) (Corr., I, no. 37). Waiting for the privileges, seemed to have worn the author's patience: on 2 August 1567 Plantin had to tell him that he asked a friend in Brussels (the bookseller Pierre de la Tombe is probably meant, who in those years acted frequently as an intermediary between Plantin and the Brussels authorities) to urge the matter, affirming moreover, that, at the same time, with the same carrier, he had sent Raevardus's letters to the mighty magistrate d'Assonleville (Ibidem, no. 75). The privileges are actually dated 2 August (Privy Council) and 14 August 1567 (Council of Brabant).
Note 4 An unnamed customer received, on 27 November 1567, 12 copies, worth 2 florins Carolus guilders 14 stuivers (Arch. 116, page 68). A copy, worth 4 stuivers, was delivered to Camerarius on 12 April 1568 (Suppl. Corr., no. 58).
Note 5 Listed in M 296, folio 16v ([Revardi] In regulas iuris antiqui, A⁰ 1568, f[euilles] 24½, [price:] stuivers 4, stuivers 6 [= the latter price added in other ink]).
