| Note 2 | Canterus does not specify the editions he followed for the first 18 plays, but underlines that he used for the last eight plays of the series the annotations of Joannes Brodaeus and Henricus Stephanus. The Electra was edited after the edition by Petrus Victorius, 1545, and includes the dedicatory by Victorius to Cardinal Nicolaus Ardinghellus and the 'argumentum' (summary) of the play by the Italian scholar. |
