Note 4 | Laurentius Villavicentius had mentioned an error in a preceding edition. Plantin in his letter of 19 April 1573 thanks the theologian, at the same time affirming, however, that in his new (1573) edition the text shows the opposite, and to prove his point mails the corresponding page (Corr., IV, no. 471: 'Peculiares tibi proinde gratias habeo quod me monueris illius loci concionum Topiario in principio Epistolae S. Dominicae in ramis palmarum quem miror ita esse in libro tuo ut scribis nempo quod annotatio sit in margine quae dicat sola fides justificat cum nostra impressio postrema hoc anno impressa manifeste habeat contrarium ut ex hoc folio quod propterea mitto videre poteris'). |
