Online bibliographical references
Note 1 Three religious treatises: Liber de divitiis (pages 1-72); Epistola de malis doctoribus, et operibus fidei, et de iudicio futuro (pages 73-157); Liber de castitate, ad quendam vere christianum (pages 158-231), all three attributed erroneously to Pope Sixtus III; followed by a letter of St. Bracharius to Januarius (pages 232-162 [= for 262]), also an apocryph work. Edited by Jacobus Salvator Solanius Murgitanus.
Note 2 A reprint of a Roman edition, the publishing of which had probably been forced somewhat upon Plantin, either by his Roman 'patroni', or, more likely, by Arias Montanus (who signed the approbatio). Cf. the letter of Plantin to Alanus Copus, 20 October 1574, in which the printer asks for sending an unbound copy of the Roman edition of Sixtus III published in 1574 or the year before (Corr., IV, no. 571, page 176: 'Interea vero abs te peto ut mihi S. Sixti tertii Pontificis Max. operum hoc vel superiori anno istic apud Josephum de Angelis in aedib. ni fallor P. Romanus impressorum exemplar unicum incompactum quidem sed plicatum et contusum ne molestior sit cursori sarcinula emptum mittas et si quid tale aliquando ex antiquis quod eam Christianam antiquam pietatem redoleat vel Ms. vel impressum in manus tuas veniat, quaeso ut nos participes facere ne graveris, sumptibus non parcam').
Note 3 Listed in M 296, folio 17v (Sixtus Pontifex 3us de divitiis etc., 157 [sic], f[euilles] 9, [price:] stuivers 2½).
