Note 2 | Type and initials point to Plantin as printer. The typographer, however, did not put his name on the pamphlet but preferred to give one of his compositors, a nephew of his wife, Guillaume Rivière, as the responsible printer and publisher (cf. Rooses, Musée Plantin-Moretus, page 166). |
Note 3 | For some reason part of the edition received a title-page without any name of printer (see cp011435). The French edition presents the same particularity: some copies have on the title-page the name of G. Rivière, in the others no name of printer is given. |
