Edition information
Illustrations Engravings: showing gladiators and gladiator-fights: a) 4 illustrations, c. 240 × c. 330, hors-texte: each with an inscription in the left lower-corner, referring to the chapter it helps to visualize (LIB. I. CAP. 6.; LIB. I. CAP. 8.; LIB. 2. CAP. 19; LIB. 2. CAP. 20. 21. 22) b) 12 illustrations, c. 115 × c. 155, in text: on pages 89, 91, 106, 112, 116, 119, 122, 123, 125, 132, 135, 137 (numbered A-M in left upper-corner). The illustrations have stylistical affinities with the work of Pieter van der Borcht. In that case, they must have been executed in Antwerp. It is not impossible, however, that they have been realized in Holland, by a local artist
