Note 1 | Exhortation by an anonymous author to the citizens of the Netherlands to come to an agreement with Francis, Duke of Anjou and Alençon. The Duke had tried to take by storm Antwerp (17 January 1583), but his assistance and the help of France were needed to continue the war against Spain. Pamphlet inspired or commissioned by the party of the Prince of Orange. |
