Note 2 | Arch. 788, folio 2 verso, specifies that were paid to Plantin's workmen for composing 'Almenachs plat & boeckens forme' 3 florins Carolus guilders and for 'Almenachs verloop van platte in boeckens [= for arranging from broadsides into booklets]' 35 stuivers This means, consequently, that part of the edition was brought on the market in the form of broadsides ('plat'), another part in the form of the booklet, as described here. Arch. 788, folio 4, notes, moreover, that of these 'almenachs' 5 reams were printed, this is 2,500 copies. |
