Note 1This edition was published jointly by Plantin and his Antwerp colleague G. Silvius. A number of copies received a title-page with Plantin's address; others got a title-page with Silvius's imprint. The text itself was printed by Plantin.
Note 2On 17 October 1561 Plantin wrote to Valerius that A. Birckman (printer and publisher in Cologne) had promised to print the latest revised edition of Valerius's Institutiones grammaticae, but that Silvius had obtained that the publication should be done by him and Plantin. Before starting with the printing, Plantin sends the author a proof-sheet and asks for eventual remarks (Corr., I, no. 10).
