Note 1These Annotationes accompany the 1577-edition of Horatius's Opera, edited by Pulmannus (see under Horatius, no. cp013146). It received, however, a special title-page and pagination, which formally makes of it a separate edition (and which, in fact, could be sold separately).
Note 2The annotations of Pulmannus form the larger part of the volume. In a letter of 18 July 1576 Pulmannus told J. Lipsius: '…meas annotationes in Horatium, partim ex vetustis codicibus, partim ex doctissimorum virorum scriptis, praesertim Turnebi, quod ille fere ab aliis non animadversa explicet, collectas, me absolvisse…' (Corr., V, no. 731).
Note 3With Pulmannus's Annotationes are reprinted the annotations and comments of other scholars which figured already in the 1566-Horatius edition by Pulmannus (see under Horatius, no. cp010900): Aldus Manutius, De metris Horatianis; Aldus Manutius, In Horatium scholia; Antonius Muretus, In Horatium scholia; Joannes Hartungus, In Q. Horatium Flacum annotationes (preceded by a foreword 'Martinus a Neuhusen lectore S.' and a 6 lines poem 'Idem lectori' taken from an edition of J. Hartungus's notes on Horatius, printed by Henricuspetri [in Basel], which both do not figure in Pulmannus's 1566-edition). Also new are the list of authors having worked on Horatius and the Index. Has not been reprinted from Pulmannus's 1566-edition the In Horatii Flacci Opera locorum difficiliorum, et vocum obscuriorum explicationes.
Note 4Listed in M 296, folio 8v (In 16⁰, 1577 cum Annotat[ionibus] Pulmanni, f[euilles] 9¼, [price:] stuivers 2½. Annotationes in eundem, f[euilles] 9½, [price:] stuivers 2½, in 16⁰. [Price together:] stuivers 5).
