Note 1 Version with elements of the preceding no. (24 March 1572) and of following no. (1 May 1572), with some original parts: a) identical with the 24 March 1572-edition: first part (pages [1-60]), third part (I-CC [= for C]); b) identical with the 1 May 1572-edition: fourth (pages 1-132) and fifth parts (1-[104]; including the Series chartarum and the 1 May 1572-colophon); c) re-arranged: the end of second part (pages [277-288]: sheet aa6).
Note 2 Rooses, Musée, page 104, affirms that a fourth in folio missal-edition was started in May 1572 and finished in August 1572 (quoted by Weale-Bohatta, no. 1172, but without giving references: 1572, Aug. Antverpiae excudebat Christophorus Plantinus). It is impossible that a monumental in folio missal, which normally took at least six months to achieve, could have been finished in such a short span of time. What can have been printed or reprinted in May-August 1572 were some quires - very likely the aa6-sheet as figuring in this edition and perhaps also some additional parts to the 1 May-edition (cf. following no.).
