Note 1 Edition of the existing fragment of Aristoteles's so-called Peplos (literally: robe of state), a collection of epigrams, being epitaphs of Homeric heroes (pages 16-17 [= for 25]; Greek text on the even pages, Latin translation on the uneven pages), followed by 'Guilielmi Canteri annotationes in Epitaphia' (pages 18 [= for 26]-37 [= for 45]) and the edition of Aristoteles's Epitaphs other than those of Homeric heroes (page 38 [= for 46]: Greek text, and page 39 [= for 47]: Latin translation). The book ends with another collection of Epitaphs of Homeric heroes by Magnus Ausonius, in Latin (D. Magni Ausonii Epitaphia Heroum, qui bello Troiano interfuerunt aliquot locis a Gulielmo Cantero emendata; page 40 [= for 48]: Ausonius lectori suo S.; pages 44 [= for 49] -31 [= for 54]: edition of the Epitaphs). The publication was edited and commented upon by Guilielmus Canterus. In his letter to the readers, pages 8-15, Canterus explains at length why the Peplos has to be attributed to Aristoteles.
Note 2 Reprint, with some emendations, of a former edition by Canterus, published at Basel by Guarinus, 1566 (cf. Brunet, I, Column 479).
Note 3 Not listed in M 164 and M 296.
