Note 2 | The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 94, gives the following details about 'Emblemata Junii 2. editio': the wages for composing and printing the 8 quires A-H are entered under '17 Mars etc.' [1566] and amount to 10 florins Carolus guilders 16 stuivers Each copy contained 8 quires (in fact: 8½ quires). Of the edition 850 copies were printed, for which 13½ reams (including 1 ream 6 'mains' 'imperfections') of 'papier petit bastard' were used, which, at 1 florins Carolus guilders 8 stuivers per ream, came to 19 florins Carolus guilders 1 stuivers, bringing the overall costs to 29 florins Carolus guilders 17 stuivers 'qui est la pièce environ demy brasp[enninck]'. |
