Note 1 Edition of the Psalms: Latin version by Arias Montanus, translated directly from the Hebrew texts (pages 33-319). Arias's translation is accompanied by marginals: on one side (on uneven pages: to the left, on even pages: to the right) the original Hebrew text, on the other side Latin explanations or comments on specific points. The text-edition is preceded by three Latin poems by Arias Montanus: '…de psalmorum studio usu; Ad lyram. Carmen dicolon distrophon' (pages 17-22; in italic type); 'Ad vatem Davidem elegiacum carmen' (pages 23-26; in italic type); '…de divinorum nominum usu et interpretatione' (pages 27-32; in roman type).
Note 2 Plantin's foreword gives some interesting details on the genesis of the book.
