Online bibliographical references
Note 1 Medical study on fevers, the first 'book' treating 'de febribus ephemeris' (21-121), the second 'de febribus continuis' (124-324).
Note 2 Printed in Leiden, but a number of copies received a title-page with Plantin's Antwerp imprint.
Note 3 In the dedicatory of this, his first book printed, the author gives interesting autobiographical details.
Note 4 Listed in M 296, folio 13v (Observationes Medicinales P. Foresti, f[euilles] 20½, [price:] stuivers 6), M 164, folio 13v (Foresti observat. de febribus, 8⁰, f[euilles] -, a⁰ 1585, [price:] stuivers 6), M 321 (sub 1585, but in the description the year 1584 is explicitly stated).
Note 5 The work does not figure in the list of books of which Plantin presented a copy to the magistrate of Leiden on 2 January 1585 (cf. E. Hulshoff Pol, 'Boucken op 't secreet. Plantijndrukken op het raadhuis te Leiden' in Leids Jaarboekje, 1972, pages 91-93). This can indicate (as already suggested by the entries in M 164 and M 321) that the publication was in fact only finished in 1585.
