Note 2 4th edition by Lipsius, without comments, but with new marginal notes, much more numerous than in the previous editions of 1581 and 1585.
Note 3 The work was printed in Leiden, in the Officina Plantiniana apud Franciscum Raphelengium. Part of the edition has this address (cf. BB, V, page 292), but a number of copies received a title-page with Plantin's Antwerp imprint.
Note 4 The publication was already in circulation at the end of 1587 (J. Ruysschaert, Juste Lipse et les Annales de Tacite, page 13).
Note 5 Listed in M 321, folio 15v (8⁰, 1588, f[euilles] 47½, [price:] stuivers 18), but not in M 296.
