Note 1 In some letters to de Virbiesca, details are given about an edition in folio, printed in 1576. On 4 November 1575 Plantin affirms he is printing 2,800 'Missales in folio papel commun sin estampas', which he hopes to have completed within some months (Corr., V, no. 667), but in his letter of 4 January 1576 another two months are expected (Ibidem, no. 690). Finally, on 19 April 1576 the finishing was announced of 3,000 missals in folio (Corr., V, no. 712; cf. also nos. 705, 713, 721, 722).
Note 2 The edition was actually shipped to Spain on 6 April 1576: 2,996 copies, of which 2,716 'in f⁰ de los communes', and 280 'de los del pap. fino' (Arch. 22, folio 75v).
Note 3 No copy known.
