Note 1 | On 18 March 1582, in Antwerp, the Prince of Orange was wounded by a certain Jean Jaureguy. In this pamphlet the author starts with a passage from an intercepted letter of Cardinal Granvelle 'Si ce malheureux d'Orange fust tumbé mort du coup, il y eust meilleur espoir…', and continues with very virulent diatribes against Cardinal Granvelle and Philip II. |
