Note 2 The last poem (De bello Turcico, pages 173-186) is a reprint of the publication of 1574 (cf. no. 2336; the first series (pages 3-88) and the poems on pages 165-172 are a reprint from the Poemata sacra of 1572; De cruento Domini nostri Iesu Christi, dedicated to Gerardus de Groesbeeck, Bishop of Liège (pages 89-163), is a new poem.
Note 3 The approbatio of 2 April 1572 is taken from the Poemata sacra of 1572 and covers the first part of the 1575-publication; the approbatio of 30 April 1575 covers the new poem De cruento Domini nostri Iesu Christi.
Note 4 According to the colophon the printing was finished on 17 November 1575.
Note 5 In a letter to Camerarius, 13 January 1576, Plantin tells incidentally that he recently had published 'poemata Laevini Torrentii pia' (Suppl. Corr., no. 121).
