Note 5 | The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 60 verso, specifies: the wages for composing and printing are entered from 1 January until 13 February 1564, and amount to 21 florins Carolus guilders 4 stuivers 1,250 copies were printed. As each copy contains 11 sheets, 28 reams of paper were used, which, at 1 florins Carolus guilders 3½ stuivers per ream, came to 32 florins Carolus guilders 18 stuivers, bringing the overall costs to 54 florins Carolus guilders 2 stuivers, and making the price per copy 'bien peu moins 7/8 stuivers pièce'. |
Note 6 | Of the edition 500 copies were ceded to 'Arnold Birckman et compagnons à la Poule grasse [at Antwerp]', at 3 florins Carolus guilders per ream, i.e. consequently 11 [reams] × 3 florins Carolus guilders = 33 florins Carolus guilders (at the date of 26 February 1564: Arch. 3, folio 7 recto, and Arch. 39, folio 156 verso). |
