| Note 1 | Theological treatise on the Apostles' Creed. According to the annotation on the title-page and the affirmation of the author in the dedicatory this was the third edition. Hessels added an Explicatio orationis dominicae, which, however, was formally presented as a separate edition (see following no.). |
| Note 2 | The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 107 verso, gives the following details about 'Symbolum M.N. Joh. a Lovanio': the wages for composing and printing are entered in 1566 on 22 June (quires A-F), 12 July (last part of the Symboli apostolici explicatio proper: quires G-I, and the first part of the additional volume Explicatio orationis dominicae: quires A-D), 13 August (quires E-I) and 9 August (K-L), for a total of 38 florins Carolus guilders 12 stuivers 1,250 copies were printed on paper 'dict carillon', for which, including the 'imperfections', were used 50 reams, which, at 1 florins Carolus guilders 1 stuivers per ream, came to 52 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers, bringing the overall costs to 91 florins Carolus guilders 2 stuivers |
