Note 1Contains: a) Treatise on the pronunciation of the Greek language (pages 11-141); b) Some appendices to this treatise: De Graecorum accentibus appendix (pages 142-144), Scholia in quibus disputatur de Germana accentuum pronuntiatione (pages 145-150), De ceteris notis quae partim inscribi, partim subscribi, partim adscribi solent (pages 150-152). These appendices are presented in the note 'Typographus lectori' (page 142) as the work of an unnamed scholar ('Hanc de Graecorum accentibus appendicem ab homine doctissimo conscriptam scholiisque illustratam…adjecimus…'). According to RDB this 'homo doctissimus' could have been Theodore de Bèze. Anyway he was very likely a Protestant author, whose name might not be quoted in a Catholic country; c) Kalendarium perpetuum (pages 154-[158]), preceded by a letter to F. Nansius, dated 1 January 1572.
Note 2The first two parts (the treatise itself and the appendices) are reprinted from the edition published by Hubertus Goltzius, Bruges, 1565. The Kalendarium perpetuum with the introductory letter is an addition, but had already been issued by Plantin in 1575 in a separate edition (cf. no. cp013341, where more details are given about this work).
Note 3Listed in M 296, folio 11v (Mekerchius de pronuntiatione linguȩ graece, 8⁰, f[euilles] 10, [price:] stuivers 3).
