Note 2 This edition is mentioned in some of Plantin's letters to de Çayas at the end of 1585: on 28 November 1585 (Corr., VII, no. 1047, page 218: '[mailed by the way of Paris, together with two breviaries:] le Missel en petit volume duquel il ne s'en est plus trouvé, parquoy je l'ay incontinent rimprimé sur la nouvelle correction qui m'en a esté envoyée de Rome par ung bon Prelat…' [i.e. Buyssetius: cf. Corr., VI, no. 866, 4 March 1580, and no. 881, 24 June 1580]), on 1 December 1585 (Ibidem, no. 1048: referring to the mailing of the copy) and on 16 December 1585 (Ibidem, no. 1054: idem). Cf. also Plantin's letter to F. Lucas, 3 December 1585 (Ibidem, no. 1049, page 226).
