Note 1Treatise on Latin poetic art (pages 3-247), followed by a series of 'comparisons' between Roman poets on specific topics, i.e. poems grouped together under headings as pestilentia, tempestas, etc., said to be compiled from a study of Julius Caesar Scaliger (pages 248-292).
Note 2This seems to be the first edition of Fabricius's De re poetica libri IIII. A similar work by the same author, De re poetica libri septem, was published about the same time at Leipzig and Antwerp.
Note 3The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 83, gives the following details about 'fabricius de re poetica': the wages for composing and printing were entered on 19 May, 30 June, and 18 August 1565, and amounted together to 21 florins Carolus guilders 2 stuivers The work contains 9½ sheets ('9½ feuilles in 16⁰'). As 1,250 copies were printed, 24 reams of 'papier carre' were used, which, at 1 florins Carolus guilders 8 stuivers per ream, came to 33 florins Carolus guilders 12 stuivers, bringing the overall costs to 54 florins Carolus guilders 14 stuivers
Note 4According to the colophon the printing was actually finished on 15 July 1565.
Note 5Listed in M 296, folio 6v (Fabritius de re poetica, 16⁰, f[euilles] 9½, [price:] stuivers 2), and M 164, folio 13v.
