Note 1On 18 June 1577 Plantin shipped to Arnould Langelier in Paris 250 'Heures en fransoys'. As each copy contained 10 sheets, 2½ reams of paper were used, which, at 1 florins Carolus guilders per ream, came to 2 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers The printing 'est de double prys [prix] à cause que sont rouge et noir': 1 florins Carolus guilders 16 stuivers per ream were charged, amounting in all to 4 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers, and bringing the overall charge to 7 florins Carolus guilders (Arch. 34, page 16). On 12 July 1577 were forwarded 6 'heures en francoys' to the 'Poule Grasse' (Birckman at Antwerp) (Arch. 38, folio 9 verso) and on 4 August 1557 nine copies to Jacques Boschard at Malines (Arch. 38, folio 28 verso).
