Note 1Edition of Lucretius (pages 3-176); followed by a) a 'carmen' of Publius Terentius Varro Atacinus (Atax [in Narbonese Gaul], 82 B.C. - shortly before 35 B.C.), taken from an epistle of Licentius of Tagaste to St. Augustinus, and given 'to fill some vacant pages' (pages [177-178]); b) Explanation of some unusual or obscure terms used by Lucretius (pages [179-188]).
Note 2The formula of the imprint ('Apud Christophorum Plantinum') and the printer's mark show that the work was in fact printed in Leiden in the Officina Plantiniana Francisci Raphelengii. Very likely copies also circulated with on the title-page the Leiden imprint, but no such copy is known.
