Note 1Reprint of Van Winghe's translation, first published in 1548. At the end of the Old Testament is noted that the publication followed the text 'recently corrected in Louvain, in the year 1553': this must refer to the edition, revised by J. van der Haghen, with references and chapter-headings, and published at Louvain by A.M. Bergaigne in 1553.
Note 2Part of the edition received a title-page with the address of Plantin's Antwerp colleague, Philip Nuyts (Nutius) (see following no.; cf. also infra).
Note 3With the same typecomposition part of the Bible, i.e. the New Testament, was printed in an in 8⁰ format: see no. cp011988.
Note 4The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 81 verso, specifies: the wages for composing and printing are entered from 19 May 1565 till 17 March 1566 and amount to 456 florins Carolus guilders 7 stuivers (including on 10 April 1565 48 florins Carolus guilders 'pour avoir faict mectre les nombres des versets à m[aistr]e Estienne [de Wallencourt]' and 1 florins Carolus guilders 16 stuivers for a book [= the Louvain edition used by de Wallencourt to make his notes]. Cf. also Arch. 3, folio 23 verso, and Arch. 31, folio 83 verso). 1,550 copies were printed. At 255 sheets per copy, 825 reams of paper were used, partly paper at 16 stuivers and partly at 17 stuivers per ream, totalling 701 florins Carolus guilders 5 stuivers Grand total: 1157 florins Carolus guilders 12 stuivers Price per copy: somewhat less than 16 stuivers Details are also given about the transaction with Philip Nuyts (Arch. 4, folio 82 recto and folio 162 recto; cf. also Arch. 3, folio 37 verso): Plantin's colleague took 500 copies on paper of Rouen (at 16 stuivers per ream), and paid, at 1 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers per ream, 372 florins Carolus guilders
