Note 2 | The original 'Answer' was very likely written in Latin. Anyway, a Latin version was published the same year (also without the text of Don Juan's Declaration): see no. cp012149. Don Juan's 'Declaration' itself was originally written and printed in French. A Dutch translation of the 'Answer' also appeared (see nos. 1881-1882). |
