Bibliographical references | Darlow-Moule, no. 5102 Masch, I, page 84. Ruelens-de Backer, page 143 (1574, no. 2) lists (referring to Lelong; cf. Masch, I, page 83) 'Hagiographa hebraice (Psalmi, Proverbia Salomonis, Jobus [sic], Daniel, Esdras et Nehemias, Paralipom.), sine punctis, Antverpiae, ex. off. Christ. Plantin. 1 vol. in 12', and page 144 (1574, no. 3) (referring again to Lelong) 'Psalterium hebraicum sine punctis. Antverpiae, ex. off. Chr. Plantini, 1574', which both certainly refer to vol. 3 of the in 24mo edition |

Note 1 | Set in Hebrew type without vowel-points. |
Note 2 | The year [5] 333 of the Jewish calendar, as given in the title-page of vol. 1, corresponds with 1573. The work, however, was, according to the colophon in vol. III, only finished on 19 August 1574. See also no. cp012656. |
Note 3 | This Hebrew Old Testament is in the same type-composition as the in 8⁰ edition of 1574 (see preceding no.); very likely first the text of the in 8⁰ publication (on two columns) was printed and then the composition re-arranged (on one column) for printing the in 24mo edition. |
Note 4 | This in 24mo edition was intended to go with the Greek New Testament in 24mo of 1574 (see no. cp012820) and the Syriac New Testament in 24mo of 1575 (see no. cp012378) to form a complete Bible in the original languages. Cf. Plantin's letter to Grapheus, 11 July 1574, quoted in no. 652. |
Note 5 | Listed in M 296, folio 2r ('[Biblia heb.a] Idem in 24⁰ cum testamento greco, 75, f[euilles] 41½, [price:] stuivers 25'). The first volume was probably printed in a larger number as it is listed separately in M 296, folio 14v ('Pentateuchus in 24⁰ pages hȩb. A⁰ 73, f[euilles] -, [price:] stuivers 3½'). The same was very likely true for parts of volume 3: Psalmi (see no. cp010386), and Proverbia (see no. cp010135). |
