Online bibliographical references
Note 1 A treatise on Latin style-figures written at the demand of the Parisian printer J. Badius (cf. the dedicatory, 2 February 1519).
Note 2 The first edition was published in 1519 at Paris by J. Badius. Many others followed another Epitome, adapted by a not named friend, in four separate volumes: (detailed in BB, II, pages 142-148, D 321-336: 1520-1576).
Note 3 In 1564 was printed by Joannes Latius, Antwerp, an edition (BB, II, pages 146-147: D 333), which served as model for the Plantin-edition of 1568.
Note 4 In that same year 1568 was published another reprint of the 1564-edition (but typographically different from Plantin's publication) by the widow of J. Latius: very probably Plantin and Latius, ignoring each other's intentions, put on the market the same edition at about the same time.
Note 5 M 164, folio 8v, and M 296, folio 4v, list '[Despaut.] de figuris, 8⁰, [15] 68, f[euilles] 3½, [price:] ¾ stuivers'.
