Note 1 Contains, edited by Theodorus Pulmannus, the Opera of Prudentius: Psychomachia (pages 7-37), Cathemerinon (37-93), Peri Stephanon (93-211), Apotheosis (211-246), Hamartigeneia (247-281), Adversus L. Aurelium Avianum Symmachum libri II (282-340), Enchiridion veteris et novi Instrumenti (= Testamenti) (341-350).
Note 2 To this edition has to be added V. Giselinus, In Aurelii Prudentii Clementis V. Cl. Opera commentarius, 1564 (see no. cp010097), presented as a separate publication, but in fact forming part of it and normally sold together.
Note 3 Pulmannus does not specify the manuscripts and/or printed publications he used for his edition, but it may be supposed that he consulted the manuscripts (including four of his own library) and the printed publications detailed by V. Giselinus in the foreword to the reader in In Aurelii Prudentii…Opera commentarius.
Note 4 According to the colophon the printing was finished on 3 August 1564.
Note 5 The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 68, gives the following details about 'Prudentius in 8⁰': the wages for composing and printing the two parts are entered from 11 June until 30 September 1564 and amount to 46 florins Carolus guilders 19½ stuivers; 87 reams of 'papier petit bastard' were used, which, at 1 florins Carolus guilders 4 stuivers per ream, came to 104 florins Carolus guilders 8 stuivers, bringing the overall costs to 151 florins Carolus guilders 74½ stuivers Giselinus received 12 copies ('Pour dons à Victor Giselinus 12 exemplaires'); what was presented to Pulmannus is not noted. As each copy contains 22 + 10½ = 32½ sheets, and as 87 reams of paper (including very probably 'imperfections') were used, some 1,250 copies must have been printed.
Note 6 Listed in M 296, folio 14v (Prudentius a Victore Giselino et Pulmanno, 8⁰, A⁰ -, f[euilles] 32½, [price:] stuivers 5).
