Note 1According to the colophon the printing was finished on 13 June 1565.
Note 2The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 77 verso, gives the following details about 'Horae Latinae in 8º': the wages for composing and printing are entered from 3 February until 9 June 1565, with a last entry for quire f (probably overseen and now noted) on 7 July, for a total amount of 65 florins Carolus guilders 13 stuivers Of the edition 1,000 copies were printed. As each copy contains 30 sheets, 63 reams of 'papier grand bastard' were used, which, at 2 florins Carolus guilders 2 stuivers per ream, came to 132 florins Carolus guilders 6 stuivers An additional expense of 17 stuivers is noted for 'les copies des heures' (probably copies of the editions from which Plantin's publication was reprinted), bringing the overall costs to 188 florins Carolus guilders 16 stuivers Very likely a large part of the publication was intended for the Parisian bookseller Lucas Brayer, as Plantin notes on the opposite page: 'Le 18 May [1565] respondu a Lucas Brayer que la rame vaudra pour luy, s'il en veut 500, à papier et faceon en 5 lb. 10 stuivers [= livres artois?] pour rame'.
Note 3Listed in M 296, folio 8 verso ([Horae Rom.] lat. in 8º grand pap[ier], f[euilles] 30, [price:] stuivers 7).
Note 4According to Karen Lee Bowen, this edition was set and printed along with cp010562 between 27 january and 7 july 1565 . For payments for the setting of this Horae see Arch. 31 folio 21 verso and possibly 21 recto. For payments for the printing see Arch. 31 folio 28 recto.
