Note 1Hendrik Alsens, an old compositor of Plantin, installed as an independent typographer in 1568, printed this in 8⁰ breviary for his former master. Details in Arch. 31, folio 91: payments for work in progress were made to Alsens from 23 June till 14 October 1570. On 17 October 1570 the accounts were verified. With other printings, the delivery was noted of 23 sheets of an in 8⁰ breviary, making 58½ reams of printed paper (= this means that 1,250 copies were printed). A second account, settled on 7 March 1571, included the delivery of 39 other sheets of the breviary (specified: A-F, L-P, V-Z, Aa-Nn, Pp-Zz, AA-DD). This made, together with sheet A 'de l'autre impression' (probably the edition, no. 810), 100 reams. For the 158½ reams Plantin had to pay, at 2 florins Carolus guilders 5 stuivers per ream, the sum of 361 florins Carolus guilders
Note 2Not listed in M 164 and M 296.
