Note 2 As he expresses it in a letter to Erasmus Vendius, February 1572, announcing the shipment of copies: '[Diurnale] Id. in 24⁰ minori forma. Id. in 24 minima forma' (Corr., II, no. 312).
Note 3 It is possible that both editions, or at least one of them, were printed for Plantin by Hendrik Alsens, but Plantin's annotations dealing with the printer are not very clear on this subject (Arch. 31, folios 100 and 102).
