| Note 1 | The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 109, shows that the two Bibles 'nonpareille' (= set in the very small type called nonpareille: 5.8 Picapoints), the one in 8⁰, the other in 24mo (in 5 volumes: see no. cp012405), were printed simultaneously from the same type: after the text was printed on two columns for the in 8⁰ edition, the set text was re-arranged on one column and reprinted for the in 24mo edition (cf. 'Pour A in 8⁰ et affustage et le recourement de ABC in 24, ensemble: 10 florins Carolus guilders 12½ stuivers'). |
| Note 2 | The cost-accounting note specifies further. Wages for composing and printing listed from 22 June 1566 till 9 February 1567. Copies printed: 1,250 for the in 8⁰ edition and volumes 1, 2, 3 of the in 24mo edition; 2,500 for volumes 4 and 5 of the in 24mo edition. Paper: a) in 8⁰ edition: 49 sheets per copy, making 128 reams (including 5½ reams for the 'imperfections'), at 2 florins Carolus guilders per ream: 256 florins Carolus guilders; b) in 24mo edition: vol. 1 has 11 sheets, vol. 2: 13½, vol. 3: 7, vol. 4: 12, vol. 5: 11, in all 54½ sheets, But, as vols. 4 and 5 were printed at 2,500 copies, 18 sheets had to be added, making 72½ sheets.
