Note 2 | It forms an addition to the Horae in French, in 12mo, published by Plantin in those years, but was normally sold separately. M 296, folio 10r, lists 'Institution xre [chrestienne] rouge et noir p[ou]r les heures in-12º, f[euilles] 12, [price:] stuivers 2'. |
Note 3 | Part of the edition was intended for the French market: on 18 June 1557 were sent to Armand Langelier at Paris 250 'Heures en fransoys' et 250 'Le livre de l'institution des chrestiens du mesme papier…et contiennent onze feilles qui font 3 rames de papier' (Arch. 34, page 16). Jacques Boschardt, then bookseller at Malines, took on 4 August 1557 two copies, noted down for 4 stuivers (Arch. 38, folio 28v). |
