| Note 2 | On 13 June 1574 Plantin tells d'Aguillon 'J'ay encores des Missels in folio 1600 qui seroyent bien tost achevés' (Corr., IV, no. 535). According to a note accompanying the draft of a letter to de Villalva they consisted in fact of 1,000 'Missales in folio papel fino y grande con figuras en cobre' and 417 'Missales in folio papel commun con figuras en madera' (Corr., IV, page 97). |
