Note 1 | Edition of a selection of letters of Cicero, printed with large interlines for use in the schools; each letter with a summary (in italic type) and a few lines (in italic type) of 'annot[ationes]'. According to the title-page the edition was arranged by Hermannus Buschius, and the summaries and annotations adapted from Paulus Manutius. |
Note 2 | The cost-accounting note in Arch. 4, folio 76 verso, gives the following details about 'Ciceronis Epist. Selectȩ': 5 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers was paid to the workers for the three sheets on 14 April 1565; 1,250 copies were printed for which 8 reams of paper 'petit bastard' were used. At 1 florins Carolus guilders 4 stuivers per ream this meant an expense of 9 florins Carolus guilders 12 stuivers, bringing the overall costs to 15 florins Carolus guilders 2 stuivers |
