Note 1 | Libri I-III (and not the first book alone as mentioned on the title-page) of Martialis's Epigrammata as arranged by E. Augerius. Reprint of Plantin's 1568-publication, in an in 4⁰ format with large interlines for use in the schools. |
Note 2 | Listed in M 296, folio 12v (Idem [Martialis] in 4⁰ castratus 1586, f[euilles] 11¼, [price:] stuivers 4). M 321, sub 1586, specifies: 'Martialis Epigrammatum liber p[rimu]s seorsim ab omni obscenitate verborumque turpitudine vindicatus 4⁰, f[euilles] 7½, [price:] 3 stuivers; - eiusdem 2us liber, 4⁰, [price:] stuivers 4 (= meaning that the price of the first and second books together was fixed at 4 stuivers)'. The second and third books (pages 82-92) are without a special title-page, and their pagination and numeration of the quires (H-L4) continue the first book, but the annotation implies that the first book and the second book (including also the third) could occasionally be sold separately. |
