Note 1 | In a letter to de Çayas, June 1578, Plantin affirms to have the intention to publish again a Diurnale (Correspondance de C. Plantin, V, no. 797: 'Statui…rursus praelo subjicere una cum Diurnali quibus a longo tempore carui nummis ad recudendum destitutus'). On 14 March 1579 he could tell J. Buyssetius that among the works he finished figures a 'Diurnale 16⁰ eisdem typis quibus Breviarium supradictum' (Correspondance de C. Plantin, VI, no. 825), whilst in another letter to Buyssetius, 10 December 1579, Plantin affirms to have printed within the last two years two editions of a Diurnale in 16mo ('Diurnalis in 16⁰ binas': Correspondance de C. Plantin, VI, no. 851, page 114). No copy known. |
