Note 1In 1565 Plantin published a complementary volume to his Terentius-edition, with annotations on Terentius by Franciscus Fabricius and 'lectiones' by Th. Pulmannus (see preceding no.). In his 1567 and 1574 Terentius-editions these Annotationes are mentioned on the title-page and in Plantin's foreword to the reader, but do not seem to have been published. The same title-page and foreword appear in the 1576-1577 edition, but the Plantinian catalogue shows that this time the Annotationes were really issued.
Note 2No copy is known but in Museum Plantin-Moretus has been preserved a copy of the 1565-edition (R 2.38) with annotations, corrections and additions in the hand of Theodorus Pulmannus in view of a revised version, and with the markings of the compositor who must have followed it. This copy presents some minor differences with the text as printed in 1580; it is, consequently, very likely that it had been the model used for the 1576-1577 edition.
