Note 1 | Treatise on the christian doctrine. Only known edition. |
Note 2 | The work was actually printed (with the type of Plantin ?) by Jacques Heydenberghe, a former compositor of Plantin, who left the Officina in 1567 to become a typographer at Louvain (cf. also Rooses, Musée, page 166). To the contrary of his Louvain colleague Masius, who in those years printed also a number of works for Plantin, Heydenberghe did not note in a colophon or elsewhere his contribution to the publication. It is only revealed by the annotations in Arch. This means that Plantin would pay 2 florins Carolus guilders 15 stuivers per printed sheet in an unspecified number of copies (and including very likely the price of the paper). As the publication contains 39 sheets Plantin owed Heydenberghe 107 florins Carolus guilders 5 stuivers On 24 August 1574 Plantin forwarded 22 florins Carolus guilders 10 stuivers; somewhat later, at an unspecified date, 13 florins Carolus guilders, 16 stuivers; on 7 October 20 florins Carolus guilders; on 14 October 10 florins Carolus guilders 5 stuivers; on 4 November 15 florins Carolus guilders; in all 81 florins Carolus guilders 11 stuivers From the 107 florins Carolus guilders 5 stuivers Plantin could deduct 9 florins Carolus guilders for supplying 6 reams of paper:'Parquoy luy reste pour tout' 16 florins Carolus guilders 14 stuivers, which were paid at an unspecified date. |
Note 3 | Four 'Institutiones Felisii 8⁰', worth 2 florins Carolus guilders, were included in the shipment of books to Pierre Boccangelino, bookseller at Toledo, 9 June 1575 (Suppl. Corr., no. 241, page 273). |
Note 4 | Listed in M 296, folio 6v ([Felisius] Eiusdem Inst. Christ. elucidatio, 8⁰, 1575, f[euilles] 39, [price:] stuivers 10), and M 164, folio 13v. |
