Note 1 | Conciones…dominicis diebus in two volumes: a Pars Hyemalis and a Pars Aestivalis. |
Note 2 | Re-edition of the 1569-publication. |
Note 3 | The same year Plantin also published the Conciones…festis (in two volumes) (cf. no. 2330. To the contrary of the preceding editions of 1566, 1568, and 1569, no copies of both publications seem to have been issued with the address of A. Tilenius: they all have the address of Plantin. |
Note 4 | However, as Plantin was in those years very busy printing service books for Spain, the actual printing was not done in his press, but commissioned to the Louvain printer Joannes Masius (who worked with Plantin's type). Masius was paid, on 30 November 1573, 86 florins Carolus guilders 16½ stuivers for printing 61 sheets of Topiarius (= Conciones…dominicis diebus and Conciones…festis), at 1 florins Carolus guilders 8½ stuivers per sheet (Arch. 31, folio 166; cf. letters of Masius to Plantin, 2 May 1574 [Corr., IV, no. 527] and 12 August 1574 [Ibidem, no. 547]). Both Conciones must, consequently, already have been on the market at the end of 1573. |
