Description |
The Jewish National Fund’s role in shaping the holiday experience of Israeli children during the first decades of Statehood. Through its ubiquitous visual and educational holiday products (posters, holiday cards, booklets, games, postcards, etc.) the JNF effectively promulgated, alongside the holidays’ biblical aspects, their related messages of the love of Israel, the significance of the Land, the connection to one’s Jewish identity and history, and the triumph of good over evil—themes that were of great relevance to the children of the fledgling Jewish State. Extensive introductory essay. No itemized listing. |
