Description |
Items added to the Collection since 1994, when the museum regained its independence from the State. Several thousand objects were acquired during these two decades, as part of an on-going initiative to fill in the Collection’s gaps—something that had not been a priority when the museum was under State control. Primary emphasis has been placed on conveying the stories of people and the things they owned and used, resulting in a diverse range of items: everyday objects used by Jews in Bohemia and Moravia, personal testimonies of Holocaust survivors, documents relating to cultural, social and economic life, artwork that captures the visual memory of the region’s Jews, etc. Introduction. In-depth descriptions. 9 items. |
